Headteacher’s Welcome April 2017

Welcome to the Summer Term at Horspath C of E School.

It’s shaping up to be another busy term with our topics on World War 2, a Local Area study and the Mayans. At the same time, our youngest pupils will be exploring Space (now that would be a memorable school trip!) and then moving on to look at Castles.

Our Year 2s and 6s will be busy in May with their SATs tests, whilst our Year 5s will be training hard for their Cycling Proficiency Tests taking place in June. In July, we can look forward to our annual Family Challenge Day followed by the School Fete. We are also planning one of our ever-popular Art Weeks at the end of term so that the children have the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and develop their artistic skills.

At the beginning of May, the school will be converting to an academy and joining the River Learning Trust. This is an exciting change, opening up new opportunities for staff and pupils to benefit from the experiences of other schools in the trust.

If you are a prospective parent and would like to find out more about our school please take a look at our latest news pages which should give you a feel for the school and what’s going on this term. If you would like any more information or you would like to visit the school you would be very welcome, please phone the school office on 01865 872702 to arrange a tour.
